PIXELL Branding Design

Overview

The objective for this project was to create a fictional company, and then design branding that matches their business practices. I created a software company called PIXELL, and designed a logo and graphic standards manual for them.

About: PIXELL

PIXELL was created to be a company that specializes in software, and acts as a third party company to larger companies to make software for them. Their business is known to be down to earth, hardworking, professional, and different from the rest, while still remaining extremely dependable.

Intial Sketches

After deciding what the main values of the company were, I began to draft a few logo designs to get an idea of how I wanted to potray them in their logo.

First Logo Drafts

After my intial sketches using my own laptop as a reference, I then began to create drafts for how I wanted the icon design to look in the final.

Second Logo Drafts

After creating the icon sketches, I picked the one most suitable for the values behind my company, and refined it further with typography

Third Logo Drafts

After I settled on a typeface, I then began to experiment with colour, as making sure the logo looks good in black and white first was extremely vital.

Final Logo

Graphic Standards Manual

At the end of my logo design, I created the graphic standards manual for PIXELL, to further enhance the branding for the company. I did ideation on colour schematics, and how I wanted the brand to represent its values through the placement of the logo design.

Learning Outcomes

During this process, I realized how thought out the branding process is, and how much the company and their values has to shine through in the work, while also being well-designed. The journey to creating this balance was much more detailed than I thought, but I felt as though I achieved it by the end of this project.
